Lt. Gen. (Retd.) V.K.Nayar PVSM, SM
A distinguished officer of the Indian Army, Mr. Nayar participated in the Indo-China war, Indo-Pak wars and the counter-insurgency operations in Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland. He rose to the position of GOC-in-C Western Command and was awarded the Param Vishist Sewa Medal for his services of an exceptionally high order. Mr. Nayar also served as Governor of Manipur. Mr. Nayar is also a scholar of eminence. He wrote Threat from Within on India’s internal security environment and is currently engaged in writing another book entitled Low Intensity Conflicts in India .

Mr. T.N.Pandey
Mr. Pandey obtained his LLM Degree from the Harvard Law School and later joined the Income Tax Department of the Govt. of India. He rose to the highest position as Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes in which capacity he was also ex-officio Special Secretary to the Govt. of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) in 1990. Mr. Pandey writes frequently on subjects relating to taxes, Company Law and the MRTP Act for various newspapers and journals in India and abroad.

Mr. Julio Francis Ribeiro
Mr. Ribeiro joined the Indian Police Service in 1953 and rose to be the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai from 1982 to 1985. Later, he served as Director General, Central Reserve Police Force, Director General of Police, Gujarat, and Director General of Police, Punjab. Mr. Ribeiro also had tenures as Special Secretary to the Govt. of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs and as Advisor to the Governor of Punjab. He was awarded Padma Bhushan, one of the highest awards given by the President of India, in 1987. After retirement, Mr. Ribeiro served as Indian Ambassador to Romania from 1989 to 1993. Currently, he is Chairman of the Maharashtra State Committee of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Mr. Arun Shourie
Mr. Arun Shourie is among India’s best known commentators on current and political affairs. He backs his distinctive writing and conscientiously independent perspective with rigorous analysis and meticulous research. Born in Jalandhar in 1941, he studied in Modern school and St. Stephens College in Delhi and obtained his Doctorate in Economics from the University of Syracuse. He has been an economist with the World Bank, a consultant to the Planning Commission and an editor of Indian Express. His writings have gained him several national and international honors. Among these are Padma Bhushan, the Magsaysay Award, the Dadabhoi Naoroji award, the Astor award, and the International Editor of the Year award. At present, Mr. Arun Shourie is a Minister in the Government of India.

Mr. Prakash Singh
Mr. Prakash Singh has been a distinguished police officer of India. He rose to the highest positions of Director General of Police for Assam and Uttar Pradesh and Director General of Border Security Force. Mr. Singh dealt with the insurgents in Nagaland, tackled the rebels in Assam, fought against Sikh terrorism in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, and combated militancy in Kashmir. He was awarded the Padmashri by the Government of India in recognition of his contribution to national security. A prolific writer, he is a regular contributor to the national dailies and has written books on Nagaland, Naxalite Movement in India, and Disaster Response in India. He is also a regular speaker at US based Universities and International seminars on a variety of topics. Mr. Singh is currently engaged in socio-economic development activities connected with Vivekananda Kendra.

Dr. Kiran Seth
Mr. Seth completed his B.Tech from IIT Kharagpur in the year 1970 after which he did his Masters and Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York. From 1974 to 1976 he worked as a Member of the Technical Staff (MTS) of Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. From 1976 onwards he has been teaching and doing research work at IIT Delhi. Dr. Kiran Seth is credited with setting up the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) in 1977, a society that has done phenomenal amount of work in the area of promoting classical music and culture amongst school and colleges in India and more recently in different parts of the world.
